Thaicom rebrands as Gulf Space Technology

Thaicom Public Company Limited has officially changed its name to Gulf Space Technology Public Company Limited, marking a strategic shift from its traditional role as a communications satellite operator towards becoming a broader space technology company.

The new company name took effect on September 17, 2026, while the company will begin trading on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) under the new ticker symbol “GST” from September 28, 2026.

The rebranding reflects the company’s strategy to pursue opportunities emerging from the New Space Economy, while supporting the Gulf Group’s longer-term business direction. Gulf Space Technology is expanding beyond satellite communications into areas including space-based data services and critical digital infrastructure.

Dr Piyawat Jriyasetapong, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Space Technology Public Company Limited, said: “The name Gulf Space Technology reflects our growing role in the New Space Economy. Building on our extensive experience in satellite communications, we are venturing into space-based data services and critical digital infrastructure. This expansion will unlock new business opportunities, strengthen our position as a leading space technology company, and enhance Thailand’s ability to securely manage critical data through domestic infrastructure and service providers, all of which will contribute to sustainable long-term growth.”

Gulf Space Technology said it will continue developing space technology solutions and services to address emerging market requirements and support opportunities across the evolving space sector.
