Police watchdog investigating fatal shooting in Brockville, Ont.
BROCKVILLE — Ontario's police watchdog is investigating a fatal shooting involving police east of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police say they were helping local police carry out a search at a home in Brockville, Ont. around 8 p.m. Thursday.
They say an officer fired a shot during the raid.
OPP say one person was taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Provincial police say they notified the Special Investigations Unit, which invoked its mandate.
The force says it can't provide more information about the shooting while the SIU investigates.
