Family overjoyed after beloved pet bunny Biscuit, who was stolen from Markham fair, safely returned

Family says Biscuit was returned after cash reward was posted online

The family of Biscuit, the fluffy Holland Lop rabbit who was stolen from the Markham Fair over the weekend, says he has been found and safely returned home.

In a post on Facebook Wednesday, Victoria McClelland said her family is "overjoyed" that their beloved family member is finally back.

"Our prayers have been answered! Our house is full of excitement, happy tears and pure joy having our little Biscuit back home where he belongs," she said in her post.

McClelland said that Biscuit was taken by "some adults" at the fair over the weekend and was safely returned after a cash reward offer was posted online.

McClelland had previously said the loss had left the family, especially her daughter, completely devastated. The family had posted on social media alongside Markham Fair organizers and community members who rallied for his safe return.

"One of the biggest things I’ll take from all of this is what it showed our daughter and our other kids," McClelland said.

"Our daughter felt so much love from complete strangers. She genuinely couldn’t believe how many people she had never even met cared about her and wanted to help her find Biscuit."

York Region police, who were investigating the incident, declined to comment.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the Markham and East York Agricultural Society said it was "overjoyed" to hear about Biscuit's safe return.

"We are absolutely thrilled that Biscuit is home where he belongs," said Devin King, the fair's president.
