After a brief, first half scare, Team USA tightened up in the second half and emerged victorious, defeating France in the gold medal game of the 2026 FIBA World Cup. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made several big plays during the game to help turn the tide and give momentum to Team USA, and following the FIBA World Cup gold medal win, she took to social media to express her excitement with four simple words.

"WORLD CUP GOLD MEDALIST," she exclaimed, followed by a bunch of exclamation points and a pair of emojis signifying gold medal and the United States flag.

Caitlin Clark came off the bench for Team USA during the FIBA World Cup, but in the gold medal game, she came up with a couple of huge momentum plays as they chipped away at France's early onslaught. With the United States trailing by five points in the waning seconds of the first half, Clark caught a through ahead pass from Angel Reese off a steal, and buried a deep 3-point shot to cut the deficit to only two points at halftime.

And then near the end of the third quarter, with France trying to stay within striking distance, Clark found her Fever teammate Aaliyah Boston for an easy two in the paint, and then she ended the quarter with a midrange jumper.

Across six games, Clark averaged 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists with splits of 35.9 percent shooting from the field, 28 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 70.6 percent shooting from the free-throw line. Clark figures to be in the mix for Team USA during the 2028 Olympics.C
