DLSS 5 Not Just for RTX 5090
DLSS 5 technology proved to be functional even on inexpensive RTX 50 graphics cards. Initial tests in NBA 2K27 showed 73 FPS on RTX 5060.
NVIDIA DLSS 5 appeared in NBA 2K27 today. Hardware Unboxed tested the technology across the entire RTX 50 lineup. DLSS 5 works with an already fully reconstructed frame, so resolution reduction has almost no impact on performance. This is especially beneficial at 1080p and 1440p, while at 4K the load remains high.
On an RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB at 1440p, the game delivers around 50 FPS without Frame Generation. With FG x2 enabled, the figure significantly exceeds 60 FPS. The RTX 5070 is capable of exceeding 60 FPS at 1440p even without frame generation. The RTX 5060 at 1080p shows 73 FPS.
Currently, DLSS 5 operates without optimization. NVIDIA plans to significantly boost performance in the fall and then add official support for RTX 40.
