Where to watch the Canadian Screen Awards 2026: 'Heated Rivalry' cast appearance, start time and nominations
Canadian film and TV will celebrate at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards, taking place in Toronto on Sunday, closing off Canadian Screen Week. Heated Rivalry cast members are expected to make an appearance at the ceremony, with the series nominated for 18 awards, including best drama series, and Hudson Williams and François Arnaud both received nominations in the best lead actor in a drama series category. The show has already won 13 awards at the scripted TV ceremony on Saturday night
But for TV shows, the CBC, APTN and Netflix hit North of North, starring Anna Lambe, received the most nods, 20 in total, winning seven on Saturday evening. And for films, R. T. Thorne’s 40 Acres entered Canadian Screen Week with the most nominations, 10 in total.
This year, a new rule was implemented that dictates that only Canadian citizens and permanent residents are eligible for awards. Meaning Americans who are part of Canadian productions, like Mile End Kicks star Barbie Ferreira, and Connor Storrie, from Heated Rivalry, could not be nominated.
