Switzerland’s Audrey Werro has been announced for the Ostrava Golden Spike, where the in-form 22-year-old will line up in the women’s 800m at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting on 16 June.

Werro heads to Ostrava off the back of a sensational run in Stockholm on Sunday, where she clocked 1:53.98 to move to No.3 on the world all-time list.

She is set to face two-time world champion Femke Broeders-Bol, who earlier this year confirmed her switch in focus to the 800m and is due to contest the first outdoor 800m of her career in Ostrava.

The meeting is also set to welcome world and Olympic champion Noah Lyles, who is set to take on Australian teenage sensation Gout Gout in the 150m. Organisers have billed it as one of the headline match-ups of the meeting, alongside the women’s 800m.

Among the other athletes announced for the meeting are world indoor champion Lurdes Gloria Manuel, who is due to contest the flat 400m against Slovakia’s 400m hurdles world leader Emma Zapletalová.

Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme, USA’s Chris Robinson, Brazil’s Matheus Lima and Switzerland’s Jason Joseph are also among the recent international additions. Czech sprinter Karolína Maňasová, who recently broke the long-standing national 100m record, is one of the many home athletes due to compete.
