Virtuoso unveils AI-powered "collective intelligence" capability

Virtuoso is bringing artificial intelligence deeper into its global luxury travel network with the launch of a new strategic intelligence capability designed to connect data, systems and expertise across its community.

Announced during this week’s Virtuoso Travel Week, the new capability aims to turn thousands of interconnected data points and decades of institutional knowledge into practical business intelligence for Virtuoso member agencies, travel advisors and preferred partners.

The luxury travel network says it has accumulated a vast amount of proprietary knowledge over the years through advisor expertise, partner relationships, consumer insights and institutional experience. Until now, much of that intelligence has been dispersed across people, conversations and systems, limiting how easily it could be accessed and used across the network.

“What we’ve built is a foundational digital capability that is ever evolving with infinite possibilities,” said Virtuoso Chairman and CEO Matthew D. Upchurch in a statement.

“It brings together the expertise, insights, data and relationships that exist within the Virtuoso community – our advisors, member agencies, preferred partners – and makes it easier to access, combine and act on. Collective knowledge has always been at the heart of how this network operates, grounded in a shared commitment to excellence and collaboration."

"This new capability will allow the network to access this collective intelligence in a greater way – and it allows us, in turn, to learn from how the network uses it, identify where the gaps are and build the solutions to close them.”

Rather than launching a standalone product, Virtuoso is positioning the initiative as an intelligence foundation that will evolve as members, advisors and partners engage with it.

Future capabilities built on the foundation are expected to help users identify opportunities, make more informed business decisions and tap into trusted intelligence from across the network. Virtuoso's own teams will also be able to use the technology to provide more precise support.

The initiative aligns with Virtuoso's long-held technology philosophy: automate the predictable so that you can humanize the exceptional.

“AI is at the core of how it works, but what we’re really talking about is Virtuoso collective intelligence, powered by AI,” stated Virtuoso President Brad Bourland. “This new capability sits within a broader technology strategy Virtuoso has deliberately pursued: adding value to the platforms our members and partners already invest in, nurturing an ecosystem of solution providers who serve the network in ways no single company could replicate alone, and focusing Virtuoso’s own internal technology efforts on work that creates unique value only the network itself can produce.”

The strategy reflects Virtuoso's broader approach to technology, with the network emphasizing tools that complement the individual businesses of its members and advisors rather than imposing a standardized system across them.

“The future of this organization is not a one-size-fits-all system that flattens the network into sameness. It is a foundation built to enhance each member’s and advisor’s own unique expression of themselves and their business, while also unlocking the collective advantage that comes when the entire network moves and delivers as one,” said Upchurch.

Virtuoso says the intelligence capability will continue expanding, with future applications focused on advisor success, partner collaboration and new business opportunities across the network.

The next stage will combine Virtuoso's proprietary intelligence with vetted external market, economic and behavioural data.

The goal is to provide users with greater context around both what is happening within the Virtuoso ecosystem and the outside forces influencing luxury travel.

Attendees at 2026 Virtuoso Travel Week were the first to hear about the initiative and were given an opportunity to preview the capability and provide feedback.
