Upgrade works planned for major Grimsby road
Essential maintenance works are expected to take place on a major Grimsby road later this year.
North East Lincolnshire Council has awarded a £1.4m contract to Scunthorpe-based Specialist Surfacing Ltd to carry out road and footway resurfacing along a section of Yarborough Road.
The work will include replacement of damaged kerbs and drainage channels, junction realignment, and the installation of new tactile paving.
A council spokesperson confirmed the works will begin this year but the date is yet to be finalised.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the project will focus on a stretch between the Market Hotel roundabout and the junction with Grange Walk.
The authority said: "The junction realignment element is designed to improve road safety by increasing visibility for drivers exiting Cross Coates Road, making it easier to see approaching traffic on Yarborough Road.
"At this stage, start dates, phasing and traffic management arrangements have not yet been finalised."
Full details would be confirmed in due course, the council added.
