Trump proposes renaming artificial intelligence and asks users to choose a new term
A familiar technology label has come under scrutiny as the US president suggests more ambitious alternatives for describing the sector’s rapid transformation.
U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed replacing the term “artificial intelligence” with “superintelligence.” He also called on users to choose the name that most accurately describes the development of this technological field.
Donald Trump wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.
The definition “artificial intelligence” is inaccurate and inelegant. There are three much more elegant and precise alternatives: “superintelligence,” “hyperintelligence,” and “highest intelligence.”
Trump published the post on the Truth Social platform and presented it as a poll. According to him, users should determine which of the proposed terms best reflects the revolution in this constantly evolving field.
U.S. Administration’s Plans for Artificial Intelligence
The U.S. president had previously announced plans to appoint an official responsible for artificial intelligence. He also urged technology companies not to slow down the development of systems based on this technology.
