Tech business prospects explored at Copenhagen TechBBQ

Investors, startup founders, policymakers, tech professionals, and industry leaders from across the world gathered at TechBBQ 2026 in Copenhagen to display contemporary trends and explore business prospects.

Several thousand participants took part in the 14th edition of the two-day TechBBQ 2026 that ended at the Bella Center Copenhagen in Denmark on August 27.

Speakers and participants at the summit focused on innovative ideas in emerging technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, climate, forestry, health, and future transformation.

The speakers at the event, simultaneously held across several stages, shared their knowledge, experience, and views in their respective fields to achieve successful transformation in startups, innovation and investments.

In addition to discussions and presentations on selected topics, the matchmaking area at the summit attracted several thousand individuals, who held one-on-one and group meetings to build business connections.

After a matchmaking meeting, an investor who joined the event from China said that she had held several talks and it was very helpful to hold meetings with representatives of various companies from different parts of the world at the same venue.

“It is not only cost-effective, but also time-saving,” said another entrepreneur, who joined the summit from Africa.

The Bella Center turned into a hive of activity and a significant number of people returned throughout the event, expressing their satisfaction with participating in the biggest tech summit in Europe.

“We are looking for startup founders and investors interested in life sciences and technology and providing innovative ideas in the robotics, automation, and drone industries,” Ane Holck, Business Development Manager of Denmark-based Odense Robotics, told Daily Finland.

She said that they had received very positive responses from participants.

Erik Weis, Director of Technology and Scouting at AstraZeneca, a science-led, patient-focused pharmaceutical company, said that the summit was a great platform to inform people about their goal to transform lives of patients with improved outcomes and a better quality of life.

“The outcome is significant. I am very happy to have joined the summit,” he said.

Daniel Farkas, a representative of Fulvio, an AI consultancy in Slovakia, expressed his satisfaction with joining such a big event.

He said that he had found several clients for his company’s business.

“We help companies and brands grow awareness and credibility. I have taken part in TechBBQ for several years as we find the summit effective and fruitful,” said Reetta Ilo-Gilbert, a representative from the Helsinki-based public relations and communications agency San Francisco.

Dovydas Vinickis, founder of the Lithuanian company DoviLoop, was excited to join such a big summit, saying that he had held several great and fruitful meetings with potential clients.

Earlier on the opening day, the organizers at a press conference presented experts from various sectors who pointed out current and future trends and various aspects of technology around the world.

Julius Markedal Jensen, economist, analyst, and strategist at the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO); Anders B Christjansen, AI tech foresight expert at Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK); Lukas Leitner, founding partner at Drumbeat Capital; and Amy Nordrum, executive editor of operations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), spoke at the event.

TechBBQ has been an inspiration for the startup and innovation ecosystem in Scandinavia since 2013.

The summit draws in a large number of participants from around the world every year who are looking forward to networking and growth. The organizers expect an even larger gathering for the next edition.
