T.C.H. near Flat Bay Junction partially reopens after collision, police say

RCMP say road could close fully again and drivers should expect delays

Police are now alternating traffic through one lane along a section of the Trans-Canada Highway on Newfoundland’s west coast, after a crash shuttered both lanes earlier in the day.

In a statement around 4:15 p.m., the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said traffic may be stopped again intermittently into the evening, until crews complete their work on site.

Drivers are being warned of the potential for delay and asked to slow down when approaching the area — about six kilometres west of the Flat Bay Junction. The junction is near the community of Flat Bay and Route 403 in the Bay St. George region.

The RCMP said no detour is available. Police are advising motorists to be aware and follow directions from traffic control personnel.
