Stablecoin AI Accounting Startup Entendre Acquired by MoonPay
MoonPay adds Entendre after recent buys of Sodot Decent and DFlow to build end-to-end infrastructure for digital money.
Global financial technology company MoonPay has acquired Entendre, an AI-powered accounting platform designed for stablecoin payment providers and fintech companies, as it expands its infrastructure beyond payments into financial operations.
The acquisition brings Entendre's AI accounting agents into MoonPay's platform, automating workflows including reconciliation, treasury management and financial close processes behind stablecoin transactions.
“Accounting is one of the most underserved areas of the future stablecoin and AI economy,” said Kareem Khattab, Founder of Entendre and joining as MoonPay's VP of Applied AI. “We built Entendre to let AI agents own the full accounting workflow from transaction to ledger. MoonPay is making commerce, treasury, trading, and payments simpler for businesses around the world. Together we can make the back office just as fast as the transaction itself.”
Founded to serve high-volume, multi-entity and multi-currency businesses, Entendre counts customers including Polygon Labs, thirdweb, Brale, Babylon Labs, Ostium, Courtyard and DoubleZero Foundation. Companies using the platform manage an average of more than 30 financial accounts, process around 25,000 transactions each month and operate across at least three legal entities.
According to the company, finance teams using Entendre automate 93% of journal entries, reduce manual accounting work by more than half and complete month-end closes three times faster. Customers have also collectively raised more than $1 billion in venture funding over the past year while using the platform.
Entendre integrates with accounting platforms including NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, DualEntry and Campfire, alongside financial tools such as Ramp, Stripe, Rain, Meow and Slash, as well as workplace applications including Slack and Gmail.
The acquisition takes effect immediately, with Entendre's team joining MoonPay and existing customers continuing to use the platform without disruption. Deeper integration with MoonPay's products is expected to roll out over the coming quarters.
Founded in 2019, MoonPay serves more than 30 million customers across 180 countries and supports over 500 enterprise clients. The acquisition follows a series of recent expansion moves, including the formation of MoonPay Institutional through the acquisition of Iron and the launch of MoonPay Trade following the acquisitions of Decent and DFlow.
