"Spot Promising Startups at a Glance"... Launch of Venture Capital Investment Platform
Starting this afternoon, a platform will be launched that allows securities firms and venture capital (VC) firms to easily access information about promising startups at a glance.
On July 7, Lee Chanjin, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, stated at the launch ceremony of the 'Venture Capital Investment Platform' held at NAVER’s new headquarters in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, “To ensure that venture capital is supplied more smoothly to promising companies, it is crucial to address information asymmetry among market participants and enhance the efficiency of capital intermediation. I hope this platform will become a case in which more venture capital is supplied efficiently, contributing to the co-growth of the financial industry and the real economy.”
The Venture Capital Investment Platform is an investment information-sharing infrastructure established to address the challenges that comprehensive investment business entities (IBs) face in identifying investment targets. Naver Pay operates the platform, while the Financial Supervisory Service and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups facilitate connections with venture firms and related organizations. The platform provides functions necessary for investment decision-making tailored to users such as securities firms, VC and new technology business finance companies, and venture companies.
Securities firms can use the platform to review corporate information before making investments and monitor the management performance of investment funds after investing. VC and new technology business finance companies can utilize proposal-writing tools to easily send funding proposals during the general partner (GP) recruitment phase and access information such as contact details of representatives at companies they wish to invest in. Small and venture companies can create profiles based on IR materials through the platform, making their information accessible to potential investors. Companies registered on the platform will have their profiles displayed at the top of search results when searched via Naver.
Naver Pay will operate the platform on a trial basis for three months and plans to make improvements if any issues are identified during this period.
