Singapore woman goes viral for 50-min breakup video
Singapore content creator Mabel Kee was in the news last week after she published a nearly 50-minute long YouTube video titled 'How i found out my fiance of 7 years was cheating on me'.
The 22-year-old, who uses the handle @mabelkeeee, detailed a series of incidents which ultimately led Mabel to conclude that her husband-to-be had been cheating on her.
"I didn't think that he would cheat on me and when he told me that Hougang is just a place where his CCA friends go to, I just believed him, I didn't go and dig into it because I'm not insane," she said. "I'm only insane now because I know there's something going on."
Mabel's video was posted on 15 July and has since racked up over 800K views on YouTube. Her story has also been covered by local media outlets including AsiaOne and Mothership.

Singapore Pools app users placed bets from overseas, CNA finds
Users on data roaming were able to place bets from overseas on the Singapore Pools app, according to an investigation by Channel News Asia. This would be a violation of Singapore's regulatory framework governing remote gambling.
CNA's claims – published on Monday (20 July) – showed they were able to place bets successfully in the UK and Italy during the 2026 World Cup. The report also highlighted similar experiences in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and China going back six years to 2020.
As per CNA, the loophole reportedly occurs when users connect through the roaming data of Singapore telcos. An expert told the news outlet that some forms of internet routing can make an overseas user appear to be connecting from Singapore.

Trump stays on stage during Spain's World Cup trophy lift
US President Donald Trump remained on stage as Spain lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy.
Trump's presence on the platform was made more awkward by FIFA president Gianni Infantino who quickly emerged next to the American leader. At one point Infantino appeared to gesture for Trump to exit the stage before the fireworks but to no avail.
The scenes weren't quite as hilarious as when Trump pulled a similar stunt during last year's FIFA Club World Cup final where he placed himself right in the middle of players celebrating.
"We're very proud of our country. We're very proud of the job that was done by everybody... this was one of the greatest events of any kind ever held," Trump was quoted as saying post-World Cup final.
Singapore opposition figure Kenneth Jeyaretnam dies aged 67
Veteran opposition figure Kenneth Jeyaretnam has died at the age of 67.
The Reform Party (RP) leader "died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family" on 18 July, according to an announcement by his wife Amanda Jeyaretnam on Sunday (19 July).
"He was my beloved husband and a loving and devoted father to his son, Jared. He filled our lives with joy and wonder and we miss him so much," she wrote in a statement published on Facebook.
Jeyaretnam is the eldest son of the late J.B. Jeyaretnam, who was the first opposition politician elected into the post-independence Singapore Parliament in 1981. He took over leadership of RP in 2009 after his father's death.
"He was academically brilliant, had a sharp sense of humour as he worked for justice and human rights," wrote Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) chairman Paul Tambyah in a Facebook tribute. "He faced huge professional challenges as the son of the legendary JBJ but carved out his own legacy as a champion of democracy in Singapore."

Spain outclass Lionel Messi’s Argentina in World Cup final
Ferran Torres wrote himself into Spanish football folklore as he scored the decisive goal in extra-time to lift Spain over 10-man Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey.
The 1-0 victory was more than deserved for Luis de la Fuente's classy, ball-playing outfit who frustrated the Argentineans with their superiority, even limiting Lionel Messi's team to zero shots on target across 90 minutes.
Argentina, the defending champions, had Emiliano Martinez's heroics to thank for forcing the match into extra-time. But Lionel Scaloni's men were forced to play the extra period with only 10 men after Enzo Fernandez picked up a second yellow card for a rash tackle late in regulation.
Spain finally found the breakthrough in the 106th minute as Nico Williams stretched to nod back a cross for substitute Torres to smash in with his left foot.
"Today destiny was written, it was made for us to win," Torres told FIFA host broadcasters after the match. "We're far from our people today but we tried to be as close as possible to them."
Torres had the ball in the back of the net once more minutes later but this time his effort was ruled out for offside.
Argentinean tempers boiled over at the final whistle and there was pushing and shoving as Spain celebrated their second World Cup triumph leaving a tearful Messi to ponder what might have been in his final appearance (most likely) at the tournament.
