South Haven Regional Business Hub to host session on preparing businesses for growth capital

The South Haven Regional Business Hub will host a free session next month designed to help business owners prepare for investors, financing and other sources of growth capital.

“Capital Confidence: Get Your Business Investment-Ready” is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lake Michigan College’s South Haven campus. The session is part of the Hub’s Growth Series and is open to the public.

The presenter will be Darren Timmeney, CFO of Humphrey Products Company. Timmeney has more than 40 years of experience with JPMorgan Chase, advising businesses ranging from early-stage startups to mid-market companies on capital raises, acquisitions and exits.

The session will cover different types of growth capital, including loans, investors, grants, lines of credit and revenue-based financing.

Participants also will learn how to assess whether their business is ready for funding and what financial metrics lenders, investors and other funding partners evaluate.

The Hub says the session is intended for business owners considering investors or financing, purchasing a building or funding another stage of growth.
