Siksika First Nation death deemed suspicious by RCMP
RCMP are investigating a suspicious death in Siksika First Nation.
Shortly after 11 a.m. Friday, Gleichen RCMP responded to a call for a well-being check outside a Siksika residence. A 17-year-old male was found deceased upon their arrival.
The circumstances around his death have been deemed suspicious, RCMP said in a Saturday statement.
The incident is believed to be isolated, however, and there is no further risk to the public.
RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, and an autopsy will be conducted on Oct. 13 in Calgary.
"Alberta RCMP send our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased," the statement said.
