Severe thunderstorm warning issued southeast of Ottawa
Heavy rain, wind could hit Winchester area
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning Thursday afternoon for communities in the Winchester area southeast of Ottawa.
The storm could bring heavy rain, wind and lightning, forecasters said. They previously, briefly mentioned a risk of a tornado.
There is also a severe thunderstorm watch to its west for places such as Belleville, Kingston, Perth and Tweed. Some of those areas previously had a warning.
All alerts are yellow, the lowest and most common level on Environment Canada's three-colour scale.
