Sangeeta Bavi has joined Anthropic as Head of Sales – Digital Natives, Startups and Mid-Market. In her new role, she will focus on driving growth across startup ecosystems, digital-native businesses, and mid-market AI adoption initiatives.

The appointment of Sangeeta Bavi Anthropic comes as enterprises and startups globally accelerate investments in artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, and AI-driven business transformation strategies.

Extensive Leadership Experience Across Technology and AI Ecosystems

Sangeeta brings extensive leadership experience across technology, startup ecosystems, strategic partnerships, and digital growth initiatives. Prior to joining Anthropic, she served as Chief Operating Officer at YourStory Media, where she led operational transformation, revenue diversification, and business sustainability initiatives.

During her tenure, she played a key role in scaling TechSparks, one of India’s largest startup events, achieving record revenues and profitability through AI-focused content, workshops, and ecosystem partnerships.

Before YourStory, Sangeeta spent over a decade at Microsoft, holding several senior leadership roles across startup growth, AI ecosystem expansion, and strategic transformation initiatives.

As Executive Director – Digital Natives, she drove Azure OpenAI adoption and digital-native engagement strategies across India. Under her leadership, Microsoft achieved significant penetration across managed accounts and accelerated OpenAI workload adoption in the country.

She also led over 50 AI boardrooms focused on business outcome consulting and helped scale startup engagement initiatives through cloud and AI platforms.

Earlier, as Director – Startup Business at Microsoft, she built the company’s startup business in India from the ground up, scaling the segment significantly and onboarding thousands of startups onto the Azure ecosystem.

Leadership Journey Across Global Technology Companies

Apart from Microsoft, Sangeeta has held leadership positions at Nokia and Wipro.

At Nokia, she worked across developer outreach, product management, R&D, strategic projects, and mobility solutions, contributing to initiatives spanning digital identity, developer ecosystems, and mobile platform innovation.

Her early career at Wipro involved engineering and architecture responsibilities focused on telecom and network technology solutions.
