Public Invited to Provide Input on Potential Digital Technology Legislation
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is seeking input on the Provincial Government’s use of digital technology to provide services to the public.
The public is invited to provide comments on the potential for legislation to govern the Provincial Government’s use of digital technology and on how the services they use could be strengthened through the use of online digital services, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
An online questionnaire is available at engageNL.ca until November 19, where, if they haven’t already done so, residents can create a free account to take part in this, and future consultations conducted by the Provincial Government.
Written submissions may also be sent by email DigitalConsult@gov.nl.ca or by regular mail to:
Digital Technology Legislation c/o Office of the Chief Information Officer 40 Higgins Line P.O. Box 8700 St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador A1B 4J6
Engagement sessions are also being held with Provincial Government agencies, boards, and commissions, as well as community stakeholders.
Quote “We live in a rapidly changing, ever-evolving digital world where information is available right at our fingertips, when we log into our computers or scroll through our phones. We encourage everyone to participate and share their ideas on the use of digital technology.” Honourable Elvis Loveless Minister of Digital Government and Service NL Minister Responsible for the Office of the Chief Information Officer
