Powerus plans to bring Ukrainian military technology to US factories

A young American venture is building a bridge between Ukraine’s battlefield innovation and the Pentagon’s demand for rapidly scalable weapons production.

American startup Powerus plans to bring Ukrainian military technologies to the United States and arrange for their production at American facilities. The company is negotiating with Ukrainian defense developers, including over long-range strike drones.

Powerus was founded about a year ago. In early October, the startup is expected to merge with golf course operator Aureus Greenway Holdings. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump hold an indirect stake in the company through the investment fund American Ventures.

After the merger is completed, American Ventures could receive a 9.9% stake in the combined company. Powerus says that Donald Trump’s sons are passive investors and are not involved in managing the business.

Powerus’s advisory board includes Keith Kellogg, Donald Trump’s former special envoy for Ukraine and a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general.

Powerus aims to supply technology to the Pentagon

Powerus President Brett Velicovich said the company is negotiating with Ukrainian defense technology firms. Its goal is to acquire long-range strike drone technology, adapt it for the U.S. market, and manufacture the drones in the United States.

The company aims to create a comprehensive solution for the Pentagon that would enable foreign military technologies to be transferred to the United States and their production to be rapidly scaled up.

In March, Powerus unveiled Guardian interceptor drones. According to Brett Velicovich, they were developed jointly with Ukrainian specialists.

In addition, Powerus received a contract from the U.S. Air Force worth up to $90 million. The company did not disclose the terms of the agreement or the potential production volume.
