Portugal ready for the hundredth 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations
The hundredth edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations is ready to begin with Grândola and the Alentejo region in central Portugal taking centre stage.
After months of build-up and anticipation, almost five-hundred of the world’s best professional and amateur riders from thirty nations have assembled in Grândola to contest the longest-running off-road competition on the FIM calendar.
Event organisers, Enjoy & Fun, have worked tirelessly to ensure that the centenary edition of the 6DAYS® will be one to remember for all. Acting as the headquarters for this year’s race, Grândola’s Parque de Feiras e Exposições has been a hive of activity during the past week as riders, teams and supporters complete their final preparations ahead of racing, which begins on 12 October.
On Saturday, 10 October, it is the nearby coastal city of Sines that will have the honour of hosting the opening ceremony to officially get this year’s 6DAYS® underway. Situated on the grounds of the Avenida Vasco da Gama, it is sure to be an evening of great celebration with all nations gathered.
For the hundredth edition of the 6DAYS®, Enjoy & Fun organisers have prepared an incredible array of tracks and trails to fully test competitors. The Alentejo region will put riders through their paces each day thanks to its constantly changing terrain featuring hard-pack and sandy conditions.
The route for Day One and Day Two will be one long loop, where only the first and final special tests will be repeated. The route for Day Three and Day Four, plus an additional route for Day Five, will be shorter in length, but with two laps to complete.
The sixth and final day of the centenary 6DAYS® will close out in style with a return to Sines for the Final Cross Test. On the Praia Vasco da Gama beach, against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, is where the champions will be crowned.
Fighting for top honours, seventeen nations will contest the prestigious World Trophy category. Italy begin as defending champions and will look to put themselves into an early lead from Day One.
However, competition will be fierce in 2026, with plenty of challengers capable of taking their crown. Sweden will start strong in Portugal as they look to better their runner-up result from 2025. France, who won in 2024, will also be fast from the off. The United States, Spain, Australia and Great Britain are all equally capable of challenging for the overall victory too. Factoring in additional nations like Finland, Chile, Canada, Poland and host nation Portugal, among others, ensures a place inside the top ten will be hard-fought for.
The MOTOREX FIM Women’s World Trophy class will prove an exciting watch. Defending champions, the United States, start as favourites and are aiming for a record-breaking seventh title. Australia are currently tied with the United States on the all-time win list with six victories and will no doubt have winning intentions of their own. Behind the two leading nations, France, Great Britain and Canada could deliver a surprise performance, along with New Zealand and host nation Portugal.
In the Junior World Trophy class, Italy look to repeat their winning performance from 2025. With an unchanged line-up, they will be difficult to beat. However, Sweden, France, the United States, Australia and Spain should be able to keep the pressure on their rivals. In total, fourteen nations will compete in the Junior World Trophy class.
Outside of the World Trophy competitions, it is the Club Team Award classes that field the largest portion of the pre-entry list. Up to three-hundred-and-fifty riders will take to the start line in Grândola and contest the Club Team Award, Veteran Club Team Award and MOTOREX Women’s Club Team Award categories.
