Pocock slams AI inquiry as political ‘stitch
Independent senator David Pocock has lambasted a parliamentary inquiry into artificial intelligence, labelling it a major party stitch-up that ignores the creative sector’s fears over copyright protections and fails to consider how to extract value from data centre operators.
Pocock accused the government of political interference after a draft of a letter from committee chair Labor MP Jo Briskey and deputy chair Liberal senator Jonno Duniam to Anthony Albanese included mark-ups from the prime minister’s office.
