Pedestrian dead after hit and run in Scarborough
A pedestrian is dead after a hit and run in Scarborough early Friday morning, police said.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a driver in a vehicle around 1: 52 a.m. near Midland Avenue and McNicoll Avenue, Toronto police said in a post on social media platform X.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, they said. Toronto paramedics said they attended the scene, but did not transport anyone to hospital.
Police said the driver fled the scene and that there is no vehicle description at this time.
Roads have reopened after an earlier closure at Midland Avenue between Silver Star Boulevard and McNicoll Avenue.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police.
