Overnight major road closure for resurfacing work
A major city road will be closed while resurfacing work is carried out overnight.
Work on the A69 Warwick Road in Carlisle is due to start on Sunday, with four-way traffic lights in place by the Tesco junction between 16:30 and 01:00 BST.
The road will then close between Montgomery Way and Tilbury Road from 19:00 on Monday until Friday.
Cumberland Council, which is carrying out the work, said it aimed to have removed all traffic restrictions by 03:00 each night, once the newly laid road surface material had cured.
During the closure, traffic will be diverted via Montgomery Way and Durranhill Road, with HGV divertions via the M6 and A6 London Road.
A council spokesperson said the work would "extend the life of the carriageway".
"Residents who live within the works area and require access are encouraged to speak with site staff, who will do their best to assist."
