Oben Electric Tops Electric Bike sales in September | Automotive and Technology
Oben Electric has officially climbed to the top spot as India’s highest-selling electric motorcycle brand for the month of September 2026. According to Vahan registration data the company posted its highest-ever monthly sales, securing 1,417 electric motorcycle registrations across the country.
At the heart of this milestone is the Oben Rorr Evo, an electric motorcycle built around the concept of placing the riding experience first and the electric powertrain second. Designed specifically around how Indian commuters evaluate and ride their bikes, the Rorr Evo focuses heavily on core motorcycle attributes—performance, styling, technology, battery range, and daily usability—aiming to attract both EV adopters and traditional motorcycle buyers.
Madhumita Agrawal, Founder and CEO of Oben Electric, noted that achieving the top sales spot validates the market’s trust in the brand and the Rorr Evo. She highlighted that as the world’s largest motorcycle market, India’s transition to electric mobility relies heavily on electric motorcycles playing a central role for daily commuters.
Alongside its record registration numbers, Oben Electric recently hit a key production milestone by rolling out its 10,000th electric motorcycle from its Bengaluru factory.
The company operates a vertically integrated, R&D-led business model, developing and manufacturing core EV components completely in-house. Its proprietary technology portfolio includes:
By maintaining control over development and manufacturing, Oben tailors its vehicles specifically to local road conditions and customer demands.
