Murder arrest after man's body found
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found following a tip-off to police.
Officers were called just before 15:15 BST on Thursday to South Road, Smethwick, after a call from a member of the public, West Midlands Police said.
When paramedics examined the man, who was in his 40s, they said it was quickly apparent they could not help him and he died at the scene.
A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was in custody, a police spokesperson said.
The family of the man have been told of his death and officers are carrying out CCTV and house to house inquiries.
The spokesperson appealed for anyone with information or CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage from the area to get in touch with them.
