In the last 25 years, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have produced some of the biggest films including Dil Chahta Hai starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna, Lakshya starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, Don and Don 2 starring Shah Rukh Khan, and Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
In total, Excel Entertainment has produced over 30 films featuring stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif among others.
However, it is Mirzapur: The Movie that not only became their biggest opener (inflation unadjusted) but also the top grosser in six days flat.
While movies like Don, Don 2, Fukrey Returns, Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara and Gully Boy were their biggest hits, Mirzapur: The Movie has gone a notch higher and is already a super hit with the potential to be a blockbuster.
In terms of net box office business in India, Mirzapur: The Movie has now taken down Gully Boy which made Rs 134.24 crore back in 2019.
