MegazoneCloud Partners with Seoul AI Hub to Nurture 100 Startups with GPU and Cloud Resources
South Korea's leading cloud company, MegazoneCloud, is joining forces with Seoul AI Hub, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's hub for fostering the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, to strengthen the technological competitiveness of AI startups in the capital region. The two parties aim to nurture a total of 100 companies this year through support for high-performance graphics processing unit (GPU) infrastructure and cloud technology.
MegazoneCloud announced on the 13th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for "Revitalizing the AI Industry Ecosystem and Supporting AI Company Growth" at Seoul AI Hub in Umyeon-dong, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both sides, including MegazoneCloud's Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) Hwang In-cheol, Vice President Seo Min-taek, and Seoul AI Hub Center Director Byun Woo-seok.
Through this agreement, MegazoneCloud will provide high-performance computing (HPC) and multi-cloud-based AI infrastructure to AI companies discovered and nurtured by Seoul AI Hub. The company will also take charge of technical support and professional consulting necessary for AI service development and commercialization. The supported technology areas span the latest advancements, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI agents.
Beyond GPU and AI infrastructure support, the two parties plan to jointly operate technical seminars and networking programs to enhance the technological competitiveness of the companies. This is designed as a comprehensive support program for the proliferation of AI transformation (AX) and corporate growth, going beyond simple infrastructure rental.
The two organizations are currently jointly operating the "Seoul AI Hub AI Company High-Performance Computing Infrastructure Service" project. In this project, MegazoneCloud participates as a GPU infrastructure supplier, helping each company build its AI development environment. Approximately 70 companies selected in the first round recently participated in a project orientation held at the Seoul AI Hub main center, where they shared operational plans and strategies for utilizing AI infrastructure.
Seoul AI Hub is targeting support for a total of 100 AI companies by 2026, and the two parties plan to recruit additional demand companies and expand the support program. As the Seoul Metropolitan Government's hub for fostering the AI industry, Seoul AI Hub oversees the discovery and incubation of promising AI companies, operation of corporate support programs, and linkage of industry-academia-research-government cooperation networks.
"Competitiveness in the AI industry comes not only from excellent technology but also from the infrastructure and ecosystem that support it," said Seo Min-taek, Vice President of MegazoneCloud. "Through this collaboration with Seoul AI Hub, we will actively support promising AI companies so they can accelerate innovation by leveraging the latest AI technologies and high-performance computing resources, and secure competitiveness in the global market."
Byun Woo-seok, Center Director of Seoul AI Hub, stated, "For Seoul's AI startups and innovative companies to grow, an ecosystem where technology, infrastructure, and networks are organically connected is crucial. Through cooperation with MegazoneCloud, we will pool our efforts to ensure that AI companies receive practical support from R&D to commercialization and global expansion."
