Japan's Chubu Electric releases data-tampering report
Chubu Electric Power Company released a report on Monday on the scandal of falsified earthquake-risk data for its Hamaoka nuclear power plant in central Japan.
The report, which has more than 250 pages, was compiled by a committee investigating the data rigging. It accuses some executives and employees of making remarks from time to time and communicating in ways that were intended to justify their actions.
It also says it is a fact that some individuals had an extremely unusual style of thinking that was shared by specific groups within the company.
The report notes a similar pattern of behavior in other scandals involving the utility.
