Inc. Hires Aaron Mok to Cover Artificial Intelligence

Inc. magazine has hired Aaron Mok to cover artificial intelligence, adding a technology journalist to its newsroom as AI becomes an increasingly important subject for entrepreneurs and businesses.

Mok joins Inc. after serving as a reporter in residence at Omidyar Network. His new role will put him on a beat that increasingly extends beyond the technology industry itself, as companies across sectors evaluate how AI affects operations, workforce strategy, productivity and competition.

Before his work at Omidyar Network, Mok was a technology reporter at Business Insider. His reporting there gave him experience covering the companies, products and broader developments shaping the technology sector.

Earlier in his career, Mok worked as an environmental reporter at Sierra Magazine, providing him with reporting experience outside the technology beat.

His appointment comes as Inc. expands its ability to follow artificial intelligence from a business perspective. For the publication’s audience of founders, executives and entrepreneurs, AI has developed into both a technology story and a management issue as businesses consider where the tools can generate practical value and how quickly they should be adopted.

Mok’s previous technology reporting positions him to cover that intersection, including the companies developing AI products and the businesses incorporating them into existing workflows.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and a master’s degree from Columbia University.

The move gives Mok a dedicated artificial intelligence beat while adding to Inc.’s coverage of one of the most consequential areas of technology investment and business strategy.
