Gatineau police investigate possible shooting in Hull sector

People asked to avoid rue Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Police in Gatineau, Que., say they responded to a call Tuesday morning about a person found with possible gunshot wounds around rue Dollard-des-Ormeaux in the city's Hull sector.

The first call came around 10:40 a.m., police said in a news release. They have arrested a suspect.

Paramedics transported the injured person to hospital.

Police say they don't believe there is any further threat to public safety and are asking people to avoid the area south of boulevard des Allumetières, where Hull's office buildings give way to a residential neighbourhood.

Police had taped off an area around the intersection with rue Élisabeth-Bruyère.
