Five people arrested after suspected shooting

Five people have been arrested after a man suffered a suspected gunshot wound.

Wiltshire Police was called to St Paul's Street in the Gorse Hill area of Swindon just before 21:00 BST on Friday after reports of a gun being fired. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The force said a cordon remained in place in St Paul's Street and Queens Drive while officers carried out their investigation.

The five suspects remain in custody for questioning, they added.

A man, 51, who has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A man, 32, who has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and being concerned in the supply of class C drugs

A man, 19, who has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender

A man, 33, who has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation

A boy, 16, who has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation
