Exhibitors gear up for 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference
Exhibitors at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), which runs from July 17 to 20 in Shanghai, are set to unveil new products and innovative technologies.
At the booth of Light Standard, an AI optical computing company, its founder Xiong Yinjiang introduced a photon in-memory computing chip that will make its world premiere at the conference. The 256×256 chip was just retrieved from the Fab earlier this morning.
"We've just picked up our 256×256 photonic in-memory computing chip from the Fab (wafer fabrication) plant this morning. It (optical computing) is actually like a series of river channels. We control the computation of light inside by precisely modulating the speed of water flowing in these channels," said Xiong.
Matwings Technology, a biotech firm specializing in AI-powered protein design, will bring more than 10 end-user products, along with a conversational protein research and development agent that allows users to complete protein design and prediction simply through dialogue. "With AI, we have shortened protein modification project research and development cycles from three to five years previously down to two to six months. Both state-owned capital and private investment groups have shown greater confidence and enthusiasm in the AI4S sector. Platform support and policy backing are substantial," said Kang Liqi, the firm's investment and financing director.
