Cinnamon Care Collection rolls out AI
Cinnamon Care Collection is rolling out AI-powered resident monitoring technology across all of its homes to help improve resident safety and support more proactive, personalised care for older adults.
Developed by Sensio, RoomMate is a system that uses infrared sensors and AI to identify potential falls, detect changes in residents’ wellbeing and alert care teams when support may be needed. Operating without cameras, microphones or wearable devices, the technology gives care teams real-time insights.
Across Cinnamon Care Collection homes where the technology has been used, there has been a 63% fall in emergency callouts and a 34% reduction in falls-related safeguarding incidents, while also cutting out unnecessary overnight checks.
‘RoomMate is helping us move from reactive care to proactive care. It enables our teams to identify subtle changes in residents’ movement and behaviour that may indicate a developing health concern, allowing us to intervene sooner and provide more personalised support,’ said Gavin Pathmarajan, head of care and quality at Cinnamon Care Collection.
The rollout forms part of the provider’s investment in technology across its 23 homes in the UK.
Carole Hunt, director at Cinnamon Care Collection, said: ‘We are continually looking for new ways to enhance the care and support we provide to our residents. Introducing RoomMate across all of our homes is another important step in ensuring we can deliver the highest standards of person-centred care, while protecting every resident’s dignity, privacy and independence.’
Lisa Delaney, UK country director at Sensio, added: ‘This rollout demonstrates how technology can empower care teams with meaningful insights while maintaining residents’ privacy, ultimately helping to improve safety, wellbeing and quality of life.’
