Busan Procurement Office Offers Public Procurement Consulting to Startups

BUSAN — The Busan Regional Procurement Office has launched on-site consulting to help startups and aspiring entrepreneurs break into the public procurement market.

The office said on the 25th that it held customized consulting sessions for tenant companies and prospective founders at Pusan National University's business incubation center to guide them into the public procurement market.

The event was organized as part of the "All in One Program" run by the university's business incubation center. The office provided a broad overview of the public procurement system alongside one-on-one consultations tailored to each company to help them secure sales channels in the procurement market.

In particular, the office pitched its guidance to the level of early-stage startups unfamiliar with procurement procedures and rules. It introduced core public procurement systems such as registration with Venture Nara, designation of innovative products and excellent procurement goods, and the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS), and offered focused advice on entry strategies reflecting each company's growth stage and product characteristics.

"It is very difficult for early-stage startups to clear the threshold of the complex public procurement market on their own," said Kim Young-hoon, head of the Busan Regional Procurement Office. "We will continue to strengthen practical, field-oriented consulting to support the growth of startups from multiple angles."
