AUSSIE RACER BRADY KURTZ CLAIMS SPEEDWAY GP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD WITH MANCHESTER WIN
Australian ace Brady Kurtz completed a double from Down Under as he won ATPI FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Manchester R4 to claim top spot in the World Championship standings on Saturday night.
After finishing second to compatriot Max Fricke in Friday’s ATPI FIM British Speedway GP round three at the National Speedway Stadium, Kurtz snatched the series leader’s Golden Race Jacket from Polish icon Bartosz Zmarzlik.
He won an epic final ahead of Danish champion Michael Jepsen Jensen in second place and Zmarzlik third.
Victory on his British home track moves Belle Vue Aces captain Kurtz (65) three points ahead of Zmarzlik (62) in the Speedway GP title race, with Aussie racer Jack Holder (55) finishing fourth in the final to stay third overall and within 10 points of the championship lead.
