Are groundwater reserves on Montreal’s South Shore at risk?
Environmental organizations and municipalities say groundwater levels in Montérégie-West are lower than normal, and they're calling on the Quebec government to hold a provincewide evaluation. According to the Environment Ministry, 27 per cent of the Montérégie population relies on the area's groundwater.
