World Rowing will launch a two-event Beach Sprint series for 2027 and 2028, holding events for the new Olympic discipline in Turkey and China.
The series will open March 26–28, 2027, in Antalya, Turkey, before moving to Yangjiang, China, in April or May. Each stop will feature 16 national teams in the three LA28 events—men’s solo, women’s solo, and mixed double—plus the mixed relay, which will make its international debut. World Rowing will cover teams’ travel, accommodation, food, and local logistics, and pay prize money to the top eight athletes. The series is intended to grow into a multi-stop global circuit in 2029.
