It’s time for Vancouver to shine on the FIFA World Cup stage tonight (Saturday) when Australia takes on Türkiye, 9 p.m. start at BC Place Stadium.
Saturday is a busy four-match day in the tournament with Qatar playing Switzerland in Group B action (noon, in San Francisco), Brazil battling Morocco (3 p.m., New York) and Haiti facing Scotland (6 p.m., Boston), prior to the late game in Vancouver.
Canada tied Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-1 in Toronto after dominating much of the afternoon match, their first-ever World Cup action on home soil. Canadian Cyle Larin scored in the 78th minute to pull even with the visitors, whose Jovo Lukic opened scoring 21 minutes in.
Canada’s next action in Group B is Thursday, June 18 (3 p.m. Pacific) vs. Qatar at BC Place in Vancouver.
Friday’s late game, played in Los Angeles, saw the U.S. squad take care of business with a 4-1 victory over Paraguay in the first Group D action of the World Cup.
