Wayra Invests in MITO AI to Boost Audiovisual Production with Artificial Intelligence

With this investment, Wayra joins a shareholder base that already includes leading investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Everywhere Ventures, Sequoia Capital Scouts, A16Z Scouts, Kibo Ventures, and Kfund.
Among the projects developed by the company, the recent Movistar Plus campaign stands out. Created using generative AI, it was linked to the Spanish National Football Team and its participation in the World Cup.
Wayra, Telefónica’s corporate venture capital (CVC), has invested in MITO AI, a startup founded by Spanish talent with offices in San Francisco and Madrid, specializing in artificial intelligence for professional audiovisual creation and production. Its platform helps companies, filmmakers, brands, and agencies create high-quality content with greater agility, efficiency, scalability, and creative control.
With this investment, Wayra reinforces its commitment to technologies capable of transforming industries and redefining how companies operate. MITO AI operates in one of the segments with the greatest projection within generative AI, contributing to redefining how audiovisual content—from movies to commercials and music videos—is conceived, produced, and delivered.
Through this transaction, Wayra joins MITO AI's shareholders alongside international investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Everywhere Ventures, Sequoia Scouts, A16Z Scouts, and LifeX, as well as Spanish funds like Kibo Ventures and Kfund.
MITO AI has developed a new generation of artificial intelligence tools applied to professional audiovisual creation. Its platform allows filmmakers, audiovisual production companies, brands, and creative teams to collaborate in real-time within a single workspace. MITO provides these professionals with an integrated management environment for production and audiovisual creation, from the initial briefing to the delivery of the final piece. Furthermore, the company has MITO Films, its own production studio, and MITO Tools, a SaaS platform designed to facilitate end-to-end AI content generation.
Among the projects developed by the company, the Movistar Plus campaign created with generative AI linked to the Spanish National Football Team and its participation in the World Cup stands out, along with other works for Movistar Plus, Telefónica Tech, as well as leading brands and organizations such as Zara, Repsol, and Dellafuente.
