A popular Victoria tradition returns this Canada Day at the Pendray Inn and Tea House. Guests are invited to enjoy a morning of live music, family-friendly activities, and a complimentary breakfast.
The pancakes are free for visitors, but the organizers encourage donations to support Victoria Women’s Transition House.
Director of sales and marketing, Julia Canton, told Victoria News that the community event, which has been ongoing since 2017, has been growing bigger over the years.
About 800 community members joined last year’s event and made donations while celebrating Canada’s diversity.
“If you don’t want to donate, that’s fine too. You’re welcome to enjoy the festivities as well,” Canton said, adding that they are organizing face painting sessions, games, activities, and a caricaturist.
There will be photo opportunities for the visitors to make memories with, alongside local artists who will be playing live music.
“Because we’re a historic property, we have some of our staff who are dressed in historic costumes that walk throughout the property,” she said.
“But essentially we just want locals to come by to enjoy, start Canada Day with a delicious pancake breakfast, have a great time and come and share our yearly tradition that we have here.”
The event will take place on July 1 from 8 to 11 a.m. A suggested donation is $10, but is not required to take part.
