Unisem appoints chief technology officer
KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd has appointed Kwong Kwai Hong as its chief technology officer, effective Sept 1, 2026.
Wong will report to the group chief operating officer, leading the group's technology and innovation functions.
"Wong will provide leadership and strategic direction for the group's technology roadmap, research and development activities, advanced packaging technologies and engineering capabilities.
"He will focus on strengthening innovation, accelerating technology development and commercialisation, enhancing customer technical engagement and supporting the group's long-term growth and competitiveness in the global semiconductor industry," said Unisem in a bourse filing.
Wong began his career with Unisem in 1999 in the reliability and quality assurance function and subsequently held various engineering and technical leadership positions within the group.
He was appointed vice-president of technology development and technical program management (TPM) sales in 2024.
