Montreal police say the employee suffered serious injuries
An employee at Montreal's Trudeau International Airport was sent to hospital following an incident involving a plane on Monday evening.
"We can confirm that emergency measures were deployed at the YUL International Montreal-Trudeau Airport at around 7:30 p.m. following an unfortunate accident involving an aircraft and a member of the airport community," reads a statement from the airport.
According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the person's injuries are serious.
The plane belonging to the airline French Bee was scheduled to leave for Paris at 6 p.m. ET. According to Radio-Canada, the incident took place on the tarmac shortly before takeoff.
Radio-Canada is also reporting that the flight in question was originally scheduled to leave Montreal on Sunday but was postponed.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says it is aware of the incident and directed inquiries from journalists to the airport on Monday evening.
The airport says its operations are continuing but is encouraging travellers to check with their airlines to make sure flights are still on schedule.
