Two charged in Bible Hill kidnapping
Police say motorcycle driver helped the victim and was not involved in abduction
Two people face kidnapping charges after a man was abducted Wednesday morning from a home in Bible Hill, N.S.
Police say the suspects and the victim knew each other.
Nova Scotia RCMP say officers began searching for a silver Hyundai Elantra around 10:20 a.m. following a report of the kidnapping. An emergency response team and air services joined the search.
After locating the car, police noticed a motorcycle at the home where the man had been taken. Truro police stopped the motorcycle on Park Street at 11:10 a.m. and found the victim riding on it.
The RCMP determined that the motorcycle driver was not involved in the kidnapping and had actually helped the victim escape. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Just before 1 p.m., the emergency response team arrested two people on Main Street.
Police say one had an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators don't know the circumstances surrounding his injury.
One of those arrested remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Truro on Monday. The other has been released and will be back in court Aug. 19.
