Twelve automated turrets equipped with artificial intelligence installed in Kyiv to destroy Shahed drones
Twelve automatic machine-gun turrets designed to combat russian Shahed-type attack drones have been deployed in the capital. Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, a special advisor to the President of Ukraine, has reported this on Facebook.
According to Beskrestnov, this is an innovative Ukrainian development.
“The turrets are an innovative Ukrainian solution that shoots down Shaheds using machine guns controlled by artificial intelligence,” Flash noted.
He also emphasized that the installation of such systems in Kyiv will continue.
Beskrestnov did not provide details regarding the turrets’ locations, their technical specifications, or the manufacturer.

Separately, the advisor reminded residents of the capital about safety rules during air raid alerts.
“Please note that for your safety, you should not stand near windows during air raid alerts,” Beskrestnov emphasized.
Over the past few weeks, russia has been intensively attacking Kyiv with drones and missiles, specifically targeting energy infrastructure. Jet-powered versions of the Shahed drones reach significantly higher speeds than conventional strike drones, making them more difficult for mobile fire units to intercept. According to The New York Times, these drones, along with ballistic missiles, will become one of the main tools in a large-scale campaign of strikes against the Ukrainian power grid that russia is preparing for the winter.
