TiE conclave in Chandigarh calls for deeper collaboration in startups, IT

TiE Chandigarh hosted its leadership conclave and 23rd annual general meeting (AGM) at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarhc today, bringing together over 300 entrepreneurs, startup founders, investors, industry leaders, policymakers, academicians and ecosystem enablers from across the region. It was graced by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, as the chief guest.

Welcoming the Chief Minister, Puneet Verma, president, TiE Chandigarh, said: “Himachal Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a promising destination for innovation-led investments, driven by progressive policies, improved digital infrastructure and growing opportunities across tourism, agri-tech, food processing, renewable energy, healthcare, manufacturing, IT and artificial intelligence.”

He added that TiE Chandigarh looked forward to partnering closely with the Government of Himachal Pradesh to encourage entrepreneurs, startups and investors to establish and expand businesses in the state while generating employment and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Addressing the gathering, Sukhu appreciated TiE Chandigarh’s contribution towards building an entrepreneurial culture in North India. Calling for greater collaboration with TiE Chandigarh, the Chief Minister said: ?”I invite TiE Chandigarh to work closely with the Government of Himachal Pradesh in startup mentoring, investor connect programmes, university innovation initiatives, incubation centres, entrepreneurship development, faculty development and capacity-building programmes.”

Meanwhile, the conclave, themed “Strengthening Partnerships, Advancing Entrepreneurship,” focussed on building stronger collaboration between government, industry, investors, academia and entrepreneurs to accelerate innovation and economic development across North India.

The AGM concluded with the awards ceremony, where the Chief Minister presented awards to distinguished members, followed by a dinner.

Meanwhile, TiE Chandigarh announced Brahm Alreja as its new president for the term 2026–27. A long-standing member of TiE Chandigarh, Alreja has previously served as the vice-president of the Chapter and has been actively involved in strengthening the region's entrepreneurial ecosystem through mentorship, networking and startup engagement initiatives.

An accomplished entrepreneur, he is the Founder & Director of Innovative Incentives & Rewards Pvt. Ltd. and co-founder of Reference Rewards, organisations focused on customer engagement, loyalty and business growth solutions.

The new governing council for 2026-27 was also announced. The members include Puneet Verma, Ritika Singh, Mohit Bansal, Sumit Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Advait Upadhyay, Rajeev Sharma, Sumedh Sachdev, Dr. Anirudh Gupta, Kamaldeep Singh, Anurag Mohindra and Sandeep Saksena.
