Spotify launches Haryanvi 101 as listening in the language doubles in a year

Spotify's new Haryanvi 101 playlist rides a 100% jump in listening Spotify has launched Haryanvi 101, a flagship playlist built around one of the fastest-growing regional language categories on the platform, after Haryanvi music listening more than doubled year on year as of December 2025.The audience has spread well past Haryana and Delhi NCR. Jaipur, Agra, Meerut, Bhopal, Lucknow and Bengaluru now sit among the top cities for Haryanvi listening on Spotify.The pull runs across styles rather than one sound. Hot Hits Haryanvi has grown over 29% in the past year, Trending Now Haryanvi over 58%, and Rap 91 Haryanvi over 18%. Haryanvi 101 follows the dedicated Haryanvi Hub that Spotify opened in January 2026.The artist charts carry the same story. Banjaare, the duo working between folk and contemporary pop, have two songs in the top 10 of Spotify's Weekly Top Songs India chart, Bairan and Barsaat. Dhanda Nyoliwala, who pushed the language into hip-hop, has six tracks on Spotify India's Top 200, and his 2026 album Kohram sits in the top 15 of the Weekly Top Albums India chart. His track Russian Bandana has crossed 240 million streams.Nearly 100 Haryanvi artists now feature in Spotify's Top 5,000 artists in India, said Unni Nambudripad, Head of Editorial, Spotify India, who credited modern sounds paired with rooted storytelling for the jump.Nyoliwala said streaming has taken his music to listeners he never expected to reach.
