South Korea's Atomic NEST Demo Day Set for Nov. 4, Spanning Nuclear Plant Maintenance to Space Propulsion

Startups built on nuclear and radiation technology will get a chance to test their business models in front of investors. The Korea Nuclear Cooperation Foundation (KONICOF) and deep-tech accelerator Bluepoint Partners said on the 19th that they will hold the "5th Nuclear Startup Academy Atomic NEST Demo Day" at 1 p.m. on Nov. 4 in the third-floor town hall at TIPS Town in Daejeon. Sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT, the event features six teams that have launched ventures based on nuclear and radiation technology.

The participants comprise three incorporated startups and three pre-incorporation teams. The incorporated startups are Neurogoth, which has introduced a nuclear-specific model-based systems engineering (MBSE) platform that integrates and manages small modular reactor (SMR) development information; SWelding, which is commercializing high-reliability printed circuit heat exchangers (PCHEs) using high-temperature nuclear heat; and Korea Nuclear Maintenance Technology, which holds intelligent sleeving technology for nuclear plant steam generator and heat exchanger tubes.

The pre-incorporation teams are Thermicron, which is preparing engineering for high-efficiency heat-dissipation systems based on ultra-precision 3D metal printing; INGEOL Propulsion, which is developing a next-generation plasma electric propulsion system for micro satellite constellations powered by nuclear energy; and RDNX, which offers cell-level precision evaluation and design services for radiopharmaceuticals.

Note: The event will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 4 in the third-floor town hall at TIPS Town in Daejeon.
