Sankt Wendel ready for the 2026 FIM SuperMoto of Nations

The countdown has officially begun: on September 26 and 27, the world's best riders will battle in Germany for the 2026 FIM SuperMoto of Nations and FIM Junior SuperMoto of Nations.

Anticipation is high ahead of a historic first: the FIM SuperMoto of Nations will be held on a street circuit for the first time.

The event will take place on the famous Sankt Wendel track, a historic World Championship venue renowned for its enthusiastic crowds.

The layout promises spectacular and demanding racing. The street circuit combines a fast, highly technical asphalt section with a dirt section designed to encourage overtaking and close battles until the final corner.

Austria, the defending champion, will not take part in this edition and therefore cannot defend its title, leaving the crown up for grabs.

The Czech Republic will start among the favourites with the number 1 plate. Its team of Milan Sitniansky, Jonas Nedved and Erik Provaznik, led by Team Manager David Novotný, will face strong opposition from the competition’s traditional powerhouses. France, the most successful nation with 13 titles, fields Sylvain Bidart, Raphael Payet and Steve Bonnal, with Sébastien Bonnal as Team Manager.

Italy will also aim for a leading role with Edgardo Borella, Luca D'Addato and Elia Sammartin, who also serves as Team Manager.

Host nation Germany is another strong contender, fielding Marc-Reiner Schmidt, Jan Deitenbach and Nico Joannidis under Team Manager Heiko Junge.

The senior field also includes Switzerland, with Mitja Krasniqi, Raoul Tschupp and Yannick Bärtschi; Great Britain, with Chris Hodgson, Alex Mullaney and Ryan Cringler; Belgium, with Romain Kaivers, Noah Champagne and Evan Gourmet; and Poland, with Jakub Ryndak, Kamil Mlodawski and Kamil Kowalczyk.

The FIM Junior SuperMoto of Nations, for riders aged 15 to 23, also promises close racing. Italy will field Leonardo Sante Lapadula, Riccardo Andreotti and Davide Sacchetti against teams from France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Finland and Estonia.
